Good afternoon,

Has anybody else noticed when making posts they occasionally fail to appear on the thread you're posting them in, yet show in the list of comments you've made.

I've just posted something on the The Top Easy Access Savings Discussion thread but it doesn't seem to be showing on the thread, even after refreshing the page several times. It does appear in my comments list though:

If I click on the most recent post in this list I get this message appearing:

EDIT: The post in question now seems to have appeared immediately after someone else has posted something on the same thread.

This seems to have happened again on the top EA thread, this time with one of @pecunianonolet's posts. I went to reply to a post on the thread, refreshed the page before posting, no new posts or pages were showing. As soon as I'd posted my reply, a post from 2 hours previously appeared on the next page immediately before mine.

It seems to only be happening to the first posts of a new page on the top EA thread (it may occur on other threads but this thread is the only one I've noticed it happening on), the first post on a new page doesn't appear initially but as soon as a second post is made it seems to ``dislodge" the first post and both appear simultaneously.

Has anyone else noticed this or is it just specific to me?

I ran in to something similar recently and spent some time puzzling over it, but it turned out someone had posted, then deleted their post, then posted again very soon afterwards, so what I originally thought was the same post being visible in some places but not others, was actually two different posts.

Thanks for your reply @MSE_James. The issue I'm experiencing seems to be a different issue though. The issue I'm experiencing is that sometimes the first post of a new page of a thread doesn't appear until a second post on that page is posted.

In the first post I mentioned when I started this thread on 20th May, the post that wasn't appearing was my own post, which I never deleted. The post (and the page that the post was supposed to be on) didn't appear on the thread after posting it despite refreshing the page several times afterwards and viewing the thread in a different browser (whilst not signed in on that browser). The post still appeared in the list of comments on my profile though and every time I clicked on the link to it it came up with the error message that I posted in the title page of this thread. This situation persisted until someone posted another post on the same thread, it was only then that the post started appearing normally.

I think the same thing happened on Friday with someone else's post, I'd refreshed the page immediately before posting to make sure that nobody had already posted the same information I was going to post and no new posts or pages appeared. When I made this post a new post appeared from two hours previously that wasn't showing before I made my post.

I've noticed this happening before on long running threads, I'd post something which would be the first post of a new page on the thread, this post wouldn't appear, resulting in me posting the same information again after I'd believed the first post hadn't saved and then both posts appearing, if I deleted one post then both posts would disappear, but if a second person posted I could delete one of my posts without it deleting the other. I'd just assumed it was a one off technical glitch but it seems this issue has occurred a few times now.

I hope I'm making sense here.

It's just happened again on the top EA thread. I've just made a post which would be the first post of page 2002 of the thread. It shows in my comments:

But if I click on the comment I get this:

If I go onto the top EA thread and refresh the page I get this as the latest post, with my post not appearing:

Thank heavens it's not just me. But when someone next makes a new post in the EA thread, try the link again and the post should suddenly appear.

Yes, I think I have had this problem a couple of times but didn't realise what was happening because the next additional post was always too quick. It is only your explanation now that makes me realise what had happened.
I daresay that there will be another post before @MSE_James gets here to see it.

This is what makes the issue so annoying for me, by the time others have chance to click on the link a new post has usually appeared, dislodging the first post and making the link appear to be working.

Someone has now made an additional post in the EA thread, my post now shows as advertised.
