Flight delay and change of resort

I went on trip advisor on Sunday  b4 we left to find out hotel we were going to in Phuket has shut for a refurb

We emailed hotel and they told us we were going to a sister hotel in another resort 

The travel agent knew nothing about it when we went down Monday morning b4 we left for Bangkok 

If I hadn’t noticed we would have turned up at original hotel yesterday when we got to Phuket 

Two hours before we left for our flight out from the uk we got a text from airline Qatar airways to Doha had been delayed by 21/2 hrs so missed connection to Bangkok also with Qatar arrived 7 hours later on next flight to Bangkok 

Travel agent knew nothing about that either as we knew before they did they couldn’t do anything about amending transfers luckily the transfer company in Phuket airport took us to new resort and pick us up when we go home
I am aware I can try and claim compensation for flights from airline but what about change of resort/hotel 
it was a package holiday as we booked flights and hotel and transfers through travel agent

I would enjoy your holiday and worry about your Compo claim when you get back.  You may even find that the alternative hotel is better than the original.
