DCBL Notice of Intended Legal Action

Hi, I need some help or advice what to do, thanks

i have received a number of letters from Dcbl regarding an outstanding parking notice/charger for parking at the services for over an hour back in August 2022. Original from Parking Eye, at a welcome break services
Copy of letter attached
there is also no reason for contravention!!

the registration number isn’t a car I’ve owned but think may have been a hire car

I remember parking at the services, which I had come in through the service entrance and much everyone uses and parked as I was working in the Starbucks coffee shop for a few hours, and buying drinks food etc while I was there.

The majority of the letters I’ve thrown in the bin, but i have now received one that says notice of intended legal action for unpaid parking charge £170

its states I’m unable to appeal the charge anymore and as I’ve failed to respond to them and they have now referred the matter to there client to review commencing legal action. At the end of the letter it states my next opportunity to dispute the charge would be if the matter was taken to court.

Now do I continue to bin the letter or do I need to respond and are they likely to take it to court or send a bailiff for collecting the £170

what do I do next? 😬

thanks

Wait for them to start any legal action, that way you're on your way to getting this monkey off your back. If you should receive a Letter Of/Before Claim from the PPC's solicitors (DCB Legal, not DCB Limited), or a County Court Claim via the Northampton CNBC, come back to this thread for further advice.  Then you're on your way to having your name in lights in the following thread.

ParkingEye only farm cases out to DCBL when they believe they are not worth pursuing through the courts themselves (they have their own in-house team of solicitors, more than capable of dealing with their own litigation).  They hope the 'threat' of debt collectors and a DCB Legal fronted court claim will rock you sufficiently for you to offer them open access to your wallet!
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Do not bin it, file it away, for information ONLY, nothing for you to do yet because its from powerless DCB LTD, debt collectors

No bailiffs will come round, that is complete fiction, there hasn't even been a court case yet, no CCJ yet, so no enforcement

DCB LTD won't issue a court claim

The claimant parking company may issue a court claim, probably by using DCB legal as their lawyers

Please read the 4th then the 2nd post if the NEWBIES thread. Easy enough to beat DCB in court claims, but landowner cancellation is the (less stressful) urgent step for you to try now.

Please don't ask for a link to the Newbies thread. See my signature...
