OK you are getting things moving.

Have you cancelled the debt direct debits? if not do it now.

Also back to the beginning, have you told your husband yet?
If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.

Direct debits all cancelled. Basic bank accounts applied for my kids benefits so they are always separate from mine.
    Husband….. getting there

payplan are really pressurising me to go down IVA route

I don’t mind going down there IVA route, but want to approach creditors and seek debt write off first. PayPlan saying only in terminal illness cases is likely otherwise in cases like mine very unlikely

Just came across this thread - not my area of expertise but will the new DRO limits from 28th June be of any assistance in this case. The op appears reluctant to go down the bankruptcy route.
The op has had some poor/mixed advice elsewhere.

We do not rule out insolvency and so DRO/bankruptcy are still options further down the line

That`s just them towing the company line, write off`s are entirely at the discretion of the lender.

And, as you have read in other posts, what Pay plan say is not 100% accurate, people in similar circumstances to yours have had major success with it, it may not be easy, but is certainly worth trying first.

Can I ask if is worth, after writing to the creditors, if they don’t respond positively to then go down the Financial ombudsman route?

Not really, not on that particular issue, as said above, what you are asking is entirely at the creditors discretion, so would not fall within their re-mitt.

    No.

You need to slow down. You have not yet told your husband.

You have only just applied to separate out your kid's benefits.

Have you yet separated out hubbie's ebay earnings from your bank account? Can you even do this without discussing with him? Although you need to do this urgently since you receive carer's allowance.

Is some of this displacement activity? You really should tell hubby before you cancel the DDs but you have to tell him before the letters, texts and call arrive.

He deserves your trust. If you don't keep it, you could lose him as well.
If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing

Guys, I’m nearly there re: telling husband. I really am . Just thought it might be good to have had a plan in place, initially I thought that would be an IVA, DMP or DRO that I could say, look I’ve messed up massively, but there’s a way through this: QUOTE plan UNQUOTE

that’s all. I HATE the deception, it’s the worst part about being in debt, the guilt and shame of lying to your family.

Right now we’re also engaged in 2 other battles, one regarding my son’s charge for his non residential care package has gone up from £100 a month to £267 a month and we’re collecting evidence that proves his DRE ( disability related expenses) are substantially more than what our local authority has allowed to disregard when they calculate his contributions.
Plus the house next door is changing from a 4 bed family home to a HMO with 10 seperare units, and we’re trying to make viable objections to the planning committee because we’re worried about noise pollution and anti social behaviour- as evidenced in other HMOs on the street.

On top of that we do have our hands full with the full time care of the boys…..

I just want to have a cushion ready when i issue that blow 😭😭😭
