You don't need the rewards account for both brands though it's the same system etc.

Luckily I get My Rewards for free on my NatWest account because I had my account before they started charging.

Have they changed the rewards account recently?, I swear it was more than £2 a month.
It's been £2 per month for as long as I've had them (over a year). Reward of £2 per direct debit (maximum of 2 direct debits) and £1 for logging into the app.

I did notice recently that each direct debit has to be for £2 or above which I didn't notice before. Maybe it was always there but I only noticed it in the last couple of months.

The rules have been static since 2019, including the £2 min for DDs to count: https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/2019/11/natwest-and-rbs-rewards-cashback-to-change-from-february---what-/

The £2 monthly fee has been static since 2017:
    https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/2017/04/natwest-cuts-cashback-on-reward-account-and-introduces-hefty-minimum-pay-in/

(The 2015 launch offer was £3/month and 3% back on eligible DDs)

If you're going to have the Rewards account, you'll need to use a separate email address, as the Rewards website won't let you use the same email address for both NatWest and RBS.
Are you sure? I use the same email/phone for both and had no issue. I access the Reward site from App directly and the personal details at the Reward site do not list my email/phone number at all.
Maybe its changed. You never used to be able to see the rewards in the app, it used to have its own log in. Maybe that's why?
I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?

You can see balance in app but app directs to website

You used to have to go onto the website separately, and if you had both NatWest and RBS you had to have separate email addresses for each. As you can go via the app these days, that must negate the need for separate email addresses

Funny this has come up, as emails from NatWest and RBS today saying that you will only be able to log into the Rewards via the app soon.  And you'll be able to pay the rewards directly into a savings account

Yes a welcome change, nonsense having to leave the app for a website instead of being able to do it all in app.

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

I don't think that's going to change. What will change is you won't be able to navigate directly to the MyRewards website(s) and log in there any more, you'll have to go via the app (which will still open the webpage, in an already-logged-in state) or online banking.

If they can do the website inside the app that at least is an improvement, Aviva do this for their platform! Thank you though
