Finally got my N180 letter through the post. This place is a valuable resource but the N180 form advice is a bit of a mess. I think I had about 15 different tabs open and ended up going around in circles for the last 2 hours. Hopefully I have filled it out correctly and sent it to the correct email address!

You should have sent a single email addressed to both the CNBC and the claimant (or their solicitor if they're using one) and also CCd it to yourself. That way, the claimant cannot say they didn't receive a copy.

I have done, just took a while to get the email address. I assume its DQ.CNBC@justice.gov.uk
Also the new N180 form has changed and is a little confusing and doesn't seem to have been answered on the forum (that I can see).

The form only changed this month, if you mean the compulsory Mediation thing?

Or did you get the old one where Mediation is not compulsory and all the questions are covered in the NEWBIES thread?

The DQ email is in the first 12 steps in the first post of the Template Defence thread.

Sorry. I didnly get a notification of your reply. Maybe it's just me being stupid. Anyway, now got an email advising me of my mediation appointment, even though I'm pretty sure I said no.

    Non-mandated cases:
If your claim was issued prior to the 22nd May 2024 or has been issued via the Online Civil Money Claim portal, it is not impacted by the policy change which mandates mediation attendance. Please follow the guidance below.

Mediation is only available if you can answer yes to all 3 (this does not relate to mandated cases):
    1.  I am willing to negotiate on the amount of the claim and I will consider a compromise.
    2.  I have enough information about the claim to enter into negotiations and do not require any further evidence from the other party before starting mediation.
    3.  I'm available for the entire time slot on the date of my appointment.

As I'm replying NO to  1. and 2. (I am available for the appointment I'm not going to strangely), I'm assuming I dont have to go. They are vague about the "please contact us so we can cancel your appointment."

Do I just reply to the email? scmreferrals scmreferrals@justice.gov.uk

    Cheers

Sent the No email on the 24th, got confirmation it's cancelled on the 31st. Nothing since. What the usual time period for the next step?

Probably months , because courts are busy and backlogged, as are the CNBC

If your MCOL claim history shows that its been transferred to your local civil court, then you are waiting for that court to write to you. ( No time limit. )

As expected. Start reading current threads at Witness Statement stage, and also read the WS section in the NEWBIES thread with the recommended a-f list of Exhibits to use.
