Cancelling Virginmedia, how about mobile broadband?

Options
The 5g Three mobile bb offer in my area is half price for 6 months £22 pm in 24 month contract for 150 mb/s. Unlimited data and Wi-Fi calls.

That is more appealing than openreach offer starting from £26 pm for 50 mb/s.

I have seen advice on here that buying a second hand router and getting a sim is cheaper.

Are there any online sim only deals for mobile bb? I’m not seeing them on the Three website.

They are just data sims on the three site, but in advance of going ahead with mobile broadband, get a PAYG Sim and run some speed tests in your area first, just to double check speeds inside the property.

For your warning, If you have "Gaming" kids, on mobile broadband they will moan all the time about Network Latency & Ping Times. :)

Thanks @mluton I'll get some sim cards and test 5G in my home.

When you say half price £22, is that £22 for the first 6 months and then £44 for 18 months? If so that looks expensive.

Vodafone broadband is usually quite cheap and it would be stable broadband rather than over 4/5G.

£11 for the first six months. However Three has a MSE deal which is very much cheaper for sim only unlimited via fonehouse - average £11 pm on 12 month contract

The speed offered by Vodafone  is max 50 mbps, and 5G can do better in our area. As for stability, we will definitely be testing this over the next few weeks
