Check that discount again. Seems to be very high. Do you use a car price site like drive the deal etc
I've been using these discount schemes for a good while and some are that generous.
20% or more on some makes and models.
SEAT Discount for Teachers | Teaching Professionals SEAT Sales - Motor Source Group

It's not just the usual teachers, NHS staff, Police and Firepersons and the likes that they offer these schemes to.
Quite often a manufacturer sponsors an organisation, like a Football club so offer members a discount
British Cycling was once sponsored by a car company and lots joined to get a discount, like my sister.

There's not one way to access these schemes, it depends on manufacturer.
Some use a broker like above (there are others like Griffin Mill).
Some go through the normal dealer channels and call their schemes names like "Affinity" or "Privilege"
Some do both, offer cars via the dealers and specialist brokers.
Some don't offer any discounts or don't publish them, I was once offer a deal on a Dacia and they are famous for giving anything off, all I did was ask!

You usually need to jump through a hoop or two, nothing too strenuous.

I've had cars direct from the dealer on a discount with just a payslip or NHS assignment number, one or two offer them on their own finance terms. Interest rates are usually similar to normal retail though.

My last car was also through the dealer but I needed a Blue Light Card, which cost a fiver but saved me £4500 off list.
They even discounted the options and offered free paint choice which pushed up the overall savings.

I know a few that have used the above broker (my other half for one), again all that was needed was copies of payslips.
The cars were supplied by their local dealer and often come with a few other perks, like a full tank, mats etc as they are through various corporate schemes.

Last week someone mentioned to me that MG have a scheme called Affinity.
I originally thought they were just discounting old petrol stock like the old MG3, but you can get over £1800 off a new MG3 Hybrid+ Trophy plus free paint choice which could be worth another £700.
    A cheap car, really cheap!

It's free to login to the MG Affinity site and have a look, but to get the deals you'll need to prove you've jumped their hoops.
