Refused return faulty goods under warranty

Hi, my mum bought us a morphy Richards kettle for 79.99 in Aug 2021 at Currys. We also ordered the matching toaster online for 79.99 from the store as it was out of stock.
Mu husband registered the warranty straight away.
Last month the kettle started leaking so much that it's not safe to use. Morphy Richards confirmed it was still under warranty and they requested a video of the leak and picture with serial number. All have been sent. They now want proof of purchase in the form of a receipt. All we have is a copy of mum's bank statement which shows the two simultaneous amounts of 79.99.
They are refusing to assist further without the receipt.
Please can anyone advise? The items were gifts for our new kitchen and I know it may sound trivial but they were bought to match and were expensive. I feel that Morphy Richards aren't playing fair, we have the bank account showing currys purchase and registered pretty much the day after.
Please help? Thanks in advance

Your mother (as the purchaser) could try the consumer rights route with Currys, but the likely outcome would be a depreciated refund. A kettle perhaps isn't expected to last more than, say, five years, so she might get half of the purchase price back. Worth approaching Currys to see if they'll accept MR's verdict that it's faulty, and why. They may replace it if it's still a stocked item.2 -
Many thanks, just feel a bit ripped off especially as it was expensive. Will speak with currys see what they say0

Personally I always keep the receipt with the warranty information and manual filed away. Older stuff is in a plastic wallet. Newer stuff stored electronically.1

Always kept receipts for items purchased. Then there's indisputable evidence of the purchase.0
