Capital gains tax when selling house as part of estate

Hi there.
I'm the executor for a relative who passed away last year. I've recently sold their house as part of the administration of the estate, and there is capital gains tax to pay on the sale. When deducting legal costs and estate agent's costs from the capital gain, does anyone know whether I can also deduct the VAT which the solicitor and estate agent charged? And if so, has anyone found confirmation of this in any of HMRC's guidance, as I've failed to locate anything.
Many thanks.

As a Personal Representative I'm struggling with where to set up online CGT account to report capital gain following sale of deceased mother's house. The estate is already registered with HMRC for self assessment via a separate Government Gateway to my own personal one and has a UTR. Do I set up the CGT account via this or do I report via my own personal account as some guidance seems to suggest?0

Who sold the house? Is it still in the deceased's name?If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0

As an alternative to battling with the online return filing system or appointing an accountant to do it for you, you could consider the so called ' paper ' return to be submitted by post per attached link below -
