    In the end, it wasn't.

She's had two payments, but we're still waiting on the arrears.

I sent 4 pieces of communication stating arrears, and then they replied with a figure for a deferred pension (which was higher but that is due to the interest they add) - I've accepted the amount but I've asked them to change the classification. Otherwise, the tax treatment is different and she's have to pay a lot of it in tax.

this is 3 months after the initial letter I sent to them. So we are still waiting. I can't believe it takes this long. We are almost a full year in since the first contact with HMRC....

They also seemed to add an extra year to her pension entitlement due to partially filled NI years somehow.

We finally received arrears... almost one year later...!

I think HMRC can take a month in simple cases... good luck! let me know if you need any help and get your MP involved if they drag their feet. My mum was owed 45k in the end which she got, but it took a lot of blood and sweat to get it! It was an exceptional case and she was missing 10 years of HRP....

I wonder if her tax bill (if there is one to pay) will arrive a bit quicker 😳
