Bought a security camera on Amazon in July 23;it developed a fault after 8-9 months, effectively stopped charging. Have been passed onto the seller in China by Amazon who after requesting videos of fault etc has offered a 20% refund of the retail price.
It was being sold by the seller but says " dispatches from amazon". On invoice Amazon has declared the VAT.
Can I claim from amazon for a return and refund?
I doubt the seller is going to offer anything better.

Does it contain a rechargeable battery and a simple battery replacement would sort the issue? In which case would the 20% refund cover the cost of replacing the battery?0

If the seller doesn't want to repair the item then you can force them to replace/refund. Amazon are often able to help resolve these things but if not then your credit card company can possibly help.Of course if the 20% refund being offered would cover you resolving the issue yourself, then accepting this would be easiest.

The cost was £80.00,so below the £100 for card co's to get involved in ,I believe.
The 20% was offered but in a contrived way suggesting I buy another camera and then send them proof of purchase and I'd get a credit or something.
Anyway, it works out to £16.00,which won't cover a repair.0 -
I don't think you'll have much luck with this, even if Amazon get them to agree to refund you'd have to return it and the postage probably makes it not worthwhile. Lesson learnt is check if its coming from China before buying something ££ before ordering."You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "1
