At the time, was the "requirement" to pay £100 (or whatever the PCN charge is), adequately brought to your attention before you decided to leave your car there without paying?2

Some photos of where you parked and signage would be useful as I can only see one entrance to that car park. This may still be part of the NHS Trust's estate and leased to the social club or they may have sold the land on. I would complain formally to CEO of NHS Trust about the fact that the car park can be accessed direct from hospital land and, if there are no signs, no reason for patient to think its not a hospital car park.

It was actually 7 Supreme Court Justices , not a judgedonglefan said:Thank you Gr1pr. I don't doubt your kind advice, but that is a shocking ruling, that smacks of privilege by the judge, thinking that sort of sum is other than a very high penalty, especially in a suburban/ semi-rural location like this.
You have not told us what the parking charge amount is, but it won't be more than £1001 -
GrannyKate, thank you I will take some photos. I have already raised this as a complaint with the NHS Trust.
Gr1pr, The parking charge amount is £100.
LDast, it was not adequately brought to my attention, and I think a lot of people get caught there, just from the responses to my facebook post in my village group. But what constitutes 'adequate' legally I do not know. I was in that automatic state you get into when going to hospital, went to the machine, tried to pay, and didn't hunt around for signage, as needed urgently to get to the appointment and had spent a good while searching for a space and found none. I absolutely thought that I was on hospital grounds, and did not understand why the machine was not accepting a card payment. From the accounts of others who have been caught out at this location, it's the lack of being able to pay by card/ not having enough cash on them, that is the perennial problem.0 -
a person on facebook messaged me to say she had found some signage from the site, and kindly shared with me the following, albeit taken on a much brighter day than the one in question. I don't know where abouts it is at the site, but from the angle, it looks like it's high up.

Are you sure that sign is where you were parked?donglefan said:a person on facebook messaged me to say she had found some signage from the site, and kindly shared with me the following, albeit taken on a much brighter day than the one in question. That sign mentions a swimming pool and a bowling green.
Just spotted the swimming pool and bowling green on google earth - they're around 150m south of the carpark you used.
I think that sign you have shown us is in the carpark right next to the bowling green and not relevant to your parking event.3 -
this is the location of the PE car park

Yes, and you can see the bowling green beyond it in that view.donglefan said:this is the location of the PE car park

But that is a good way from where you parked, isn't it?2 -

Then why on earth didn't you challenge the post that @fisherjim made just half an hour after you started this thread yesterday morning?donglefan said:Keith P, That's the exact location this parking problem is about.
