Maybe get your facts right if you are trying to use them to make a point. If that were the case they would be paying him in excess of £40m per year. His salary is per year.km1500 said:oh don't worry about us non-licence payers and the BBC being unable to afford to make programs
the BBC have masses of money they can afford to pay Gary Lineker over a million pounds an episode for commentating on football
Some will still see £1.3m per year (down from £1.75m) as excessive, others won't. Garry Neville, Jamie Carragher and Roy Keane are all reportedly paid £1m+ by Sky.Thierry Henry at one point was reportedly paid £4m per year.4 -
We don't pay for a licence as we don't watch it record live TV or watch BBC iPlayer. Not paying £159 per year pays for Amazon Prime.
Husband was told by TV Licensing Unit that watching live sport on Amazon Prime or watching a live stream on YouTube requires a TV licence, even though they aren't made for TV. Anyone else told that ?0 -
That is correct - watching a programme live on any streaming service requires a TV licence.MrsStepford said:We don't pay for a licence as we don't watch it record live TV or watch BBC iPlayer. Not paying £159 per year pays for Amazon Prime.

I'm not sure thats 100% correct if It's a live stream by an individual content creator - I think the pertinent word is "service" and individuals aren't covered under this. Maybe I'm wrongGingerTim said:

Correct - if it's a programme you need a licence, if it's some YouTuber them you don't.LightFlare said:

Haven't paid for a TV licence in over 30 years. I totally refuse to fund that organization.I don't care about your first world problems; I have enough of my own!0

I enjoy listening to BBC Radio so I'm happy to continue funding production of future programs.IvanOpinion said:Haven't paid for a TV licence in over 30 years. I totally refuse to fund that organization.4 -

If you don't like the fee, unsubscribe, i.e. cancel your TV Licence direct debit and don't watch live TV anymore. If you don't like how much Netflix or Prime etc costs, you cancel them. Do the same with the BBC if you think the fee is too high.
