Thanks @oldernonethewiser & @Gr1pr.0

For information, showing the blue badge as well as paying allowed the driver to park in a disabled bay, with better access to the vehicle and usually closer to the businesses, less walking etc
Council rules are completely different, never compare the two, one is regulated, the other is not2 -
But you don't just pay it!ImranQ said:Thanks @oldernonethewiser & @Gr1pr.
I would send an online appeal, really apologetic and attaching a photo of the Blue Badge. Tell them that you thought displaying a Blue Badge was enough (as it is in that town in Council car parks) and given this was human error by disabled patrons of xxxxxx business and nothing malicious/not trespass and not deliberate, would they please accept £12 (double the fee that apparently should have been paid, now you have gone back and looked again) to resolve the matter. That covers ParkingEye's minor automated admin and £2.50 DVLA look up as well as the fee for the two hours.
And it reflects the fact that there was fault in both sides: no t&cs signs were in view at the disabled bays and if the case is taken to POPLA it will cost ParkingEye £30 and they could lose. Therefore the offer has genuine value and you kindly ask for the mitigating circumstances to be reviewed and £12 accepted, which you are happy to pay to end the dispute and not try POPLA.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks for the idea. I may try pleading via the ignorance route (it actually was anyway) although I did note that there were no disabled bays in the car park. Funnily enough, we could have just parked on the main road (Uxbridge Road) on the single yellow line using the Blue Badge free anyway!Coupon-mad said:

Yes you could!
Appeal as I suggested. I think PEye will cancel or agree to settle for up to £20; hence you offer £12 which is reasonable.
I've dealt with PEye a lot and they do properly (usually) consider polite appeals. Do not use the Template Appeal for this.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Apologies if my posts were implying paying the charge, I was just trying to clarify the situation re Blue Badge.Things that are different: draw & drawer, brought & bought, loose & lose, dose & does, payed & paid2

Exactly, that is one of the prime purposes of the blue badge, plus there wouldn't be a payment of £6 to parkImranQ said:
