Hiya
I'm looking to buy a Henry/Hetty numatic vaccum in the next day or two. Have been told that argos/curry etc will give you a new one if they ever break down - a straightforward replacement. Does this sound right?
I was gonna go for a internet company which is cheaper but thinkingmay be worth paying extra if you an return for a replacement - if you need to.
THanks for any replies!

Sounds too good to be true especially when both argos and curry offer extended warranties for an additional cost. We've had our Henry for 5 years now and he's still going like new.0

hmmm doesn't sound like their policy on other stuff. We had a sat nav, used for a week then it died. Argos sent it back to the manufacturers saying it would be 2 weeks till returned. That was 6 weeks ago and only an 0845 number to contact them on.The best things in life are NOT free - but they sure are cheaper with MSE!:j0

argos is breaking the law. the retailer is responsible for the repair or refund.
you should have insisted upon a refund or exchange.Get some gorm.0 -
We're buying one too! Can you post again when you decide where to buy from please?
It doesn't sound right about Argos/Currys btw. Maybe there was some sort of special promotion run by Numatic at one time and they did a swap then? Wouldn't have said that would happen as a rule?0 -
Numatic vacs are generally very reliable. Their spares department are helpful if you ever have a problem.
I bought my last Henry off ebay..brand new and £25 cheaper than elsewhere.0 -
PS: Amazon currently have them for <£90..0

Doing as poster suggested and going via Ebay. Power seller called "sherbornejim" - good prices and service with excellent feedback. Red commercial Henry only £85 - but wanna pink one!! so may well pay £15 extra to get it! good luck with yours0 -
How can the be breaking the law? they have sent the item for repair.
Because it developed a fault after only one week - which would strongly suggest that it was faulty at the time of purchase. I would have insisted on a replacement or refund.
It is for the retailer to prove that it wasn't faulty when bought. As a consumer, you keep reminding them of that until they refund/exchange.Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0 -
Aah I may have misled you a little. It developed the fault after being used for one week BUT I'd bought it 6 weeks earlier.
I read a posting on here about how they were giving you the better one than you paid for and Mum wanted one for her birthday. I bought it early and she then didn't use it for a few weeks after receiving it.The best things in life are NOT free - but they sure are cheaper with MSE!:j0
