Eviction notice confusion

Hi, thanks for reading. I live in Hospital residences but am facing eviction soon having lost my job to severe mental health issues. I am getting mixed messages about the legality of my eviction notice, which is a simple typed letter asking me to leave. I have heard a section 21 or section 8 notice is required before they can legally evict me. I an high priority on the housing list but need to try and gain as much time before I leave as I can to avoid becoming homeless. Can anyone straighten this out for me please? It’s the whole Hospital residences thing that seems to be muddying the waters, but in essence, they are a private landlord? Thank you.

Is this England??
Was the hospital residence provided in relation to your job?? Did you need to live there to do the job?? Have you re-read the occupation agreement??
If so it is unlikely to be an AST in which case s21 & s8 won't (probably) apply.. You may be a "service occupier" rather than tenant (but nor necessarily)

Hi thanks, it was available to me as an employee, I moved in after a marriage breakdown. It wasn't required to do my job.0

None of the links seem to apply directly. Any employee could apply if there was a empty room. I have had tenancy agreements in the past, but it hasn't been renewed in years. You are not required to live in for your job, neither is the accommodation provided with your job0
