Most of the earlier replies assumed he was in the UK.1 -
Your bank will probably give you a rotten deal. Compare it with specialist currency transfer firms: https://www.monito.com/en/compare/transfer/gb/se/gbp/sek/100

They are not the scammers choice for no reason.
I know people who worked for them and quickly left when they experienced the ethics of the organisation. Also know several people who have randomly had their accounts frozen / closed.
OP, find out if your grandson has a proper bank account and send the money to that rather than Revolut.0 -

Your son's IBAN is for GBP or SEK (Swedish kronor)?Revolut is a multi-currency account. If set up using a UK address it provides the GBP account details with a sort code and account number, but if set up using a Swedish address it may instead use the IBAN for GBP, I don't know.To avoid adverse exchange rate, fees and complication it would be best if your son receives GBP and does the conversion to SEK himself within the Revolut app.Sending GBP directly to a Revolut SEK account is probably best avoided, it's easy for your son open a GBP account on his Revolut if he hasn't already.Or as above, obtain your son's account details with a proper Swedish bank and use a service such as Wise to send your gift to that.Evolution, not revolution0

I suggest the same, assuming that a non-UK Revolut account provides the sort code + account number for GBP as usual (not IBAN) - do you know whether that's the case..?

They keep being refused a UK banking license due to their lack of fraud protection, locking of accounts and other issues.

OP, find out if your grandson has a proper bank account and send the money to that rather than Revolut.I opened a Revolut account in 2021 and used it a few times just to see how it worked. I knew I had a balance of around £25 remaining after my last transaction.Several months later I received an email from them telling me my account balance had fallen below zero. My immediate thought was that I must have been hacked. When I checked the account I saw that Revolut had been debiting me with £6.99 a month for the last 4 months. It seems they had taken it upon themselves to "upgrade" me to a premium account without my knowledge or consent.I had to jump through a lot of hoops to get to speak to someone to sort it out. They eventually refunded me all the charges but it made me very wary of them and I'd find it hard to trust them again.0 -

Perhaps your reluctance to clarify is due to not wanting to spoil the surprise of your gift. But sending GBP to a Revolut SEK account from your bank is likely to cause costs and problems, also for your son. So perhaps it's best if you just buy a couple of Swedish krona banknotes at a bureau de change and mail them to him.

Sending cash in the post is really a terrible suggestion.
OP should be able to find out what currency his grandson's account is in without giving away that he wants to send him some money.
