Inappropriate Tesco Coupons

Not had any £X off a £Y shop for ages. Had a few 50 point on products and a freebie last week. Latest 3 are things I have never bought and most likely never will.

We receive coupons but never anything like OP. We’ve just received £9 off a £60 coupon for this week, £5 off £40 next week and the same for week three. Ironically we’re not regular Tesco shoppers, just the occasion top-up. We just tend to shop depending upon where we are (if we’re on our way home after a day out somewhere) or what the weathers like (Sainsbury’s is about the only big local store with covered parking, handy if it’s raining)0

Apologies for putting this thread in the wrong place, it’s my first time at starting a thread so on a learning curve…I love this forum!3

I don't ever get any coupons from Tesco! All I get is my clubcard vouchers. Some thanks for shopping with them for almost 30 years!1

I don't seem to get any vouchers any more either.
Seemingly they don't reward loyalty (sorry, not talking about the reward card!) but try to encourage folk who rarely shop with them who will then (maybe) change their shopping habits. That's the norm.Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

You’re absolutely right - I sent them a message on WhatsApp and got this reply:
“I've passed your feedback on to the relevant team and If you don't want to receive these anymore we can opt you out of bonus coupon mailings so please let me know if you'd like to arrange this.”
Not great customer service!1 -
I know this thread is about Tesco but . . .
I do get Nectar offers from Sainsbury's for things I have bought in the past - some which I might have bought just to try them once but others which I buy regularly. These are either reduced prices which can be used multiple times within the week of the offer or for extra points for a single occasion of buying one of the items in the week. (Only problem is that sometimes, not usually, the regular item is sold out when I am instore.)0 -
They are all the same when it comes to offering so-called incentives, the plan is to expose you to buying more and buying different (additional) once they can spot a trend.
For example Asda cashpot "milestones" for meat, fish, ready meals and toiletries are like water off a duck's back for me. The marketeers can see I am a f&v, dairy and bakery person already so why bother?
No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.0 -
LizziePoppins said:Unfortunately this is the second time in a row we have received these coupons, we would need to spend £360 over 3 weeks for just 2 of us, it’s just totally inappropriate. If they were smaller we would use them and they would get our business, now it’s Aldi here we come!Sometimes, loyalty schemes like these just backfire. I agree they are setting you "stretch" goals, but they are not being realistic. I've had the same (Morrisons), and even with the best will in the world would not be able get a single shop of the amount they need. Or the "Spend > X pounds every week for the next 5 weeks and get ..."So I just ignore those Morrisons vouchers I can't use, and carry on at Aldi/Lidl/ASDA without vouchers ... sometimes Morrisons come back with a lower target. The algorithm is testing you. It's like a reverse auction1
