IHT435

If the estate (including property left to a child) is valued at £385,000 and so no inheritance tax is due, do I need to complete IHT400 and IHT435 or just IHT435?

If you needed to complete IHT forms you would need to complete both but do you? Is there a predeceased spouse whose allowance can be transferred? This would give you up to £650k before needing any IHT forms.

For any IHT return IHT 400 always has to be completed. Which supplementary forms that need to be filled in depends on the assets held within the estate.
