NOW (Sky Full Fibre Installation date broken)

Hi,

Was given an installation date of 26th April for Full Fibre  a text a few days ago to say it may be delayed and someone would call me on the 25th.Received a text instead saying I had to call them. They guy said I would get another update in a months time. I  Asked if any compensation would be due and he said no because the date given was only a provisional date that may change.

Here is the email I received before, thoughts please if i should push for compensation.

We're pleased to confirm your order with Sky Broadband and Talk

Hello,

You'll soon have Sky Broadband powering your home

We can't wait for you to experience our fast and reliable broadband.

Download the My Sky app to track your order and manage your account.

Your Sky Broadband will be activated on 26 April.

Here are a few things you need to know about installing your Full Fibre Sky Broadband:

1.

If you rent, make sure you get the landlord's permission. We may need to drill a few small holes to connect the fibre cables to your home.

2.

You or someone you trust will need to be there on the day. This is simply to help make certain decisions with our engineer about installing the new kit.

Openreach may also need to do some initial checks outside your home before your installation date. This is all part of the process, and you won't need to be around while these checks are being done.

Making online calls with Sky Talk

As part of your Sky Talk service, you'll be able to make and receive online calls.

Simply plug your home phone into your Sky Broadband Hub once it’s been connected. We'll send you step-by-step instructions to help things go smoothly.

Thanks,

Your Sky Team

Enter you address here , what is the survey return , it looks like this

Our records show the following FTTP network service information for these premises:-Single Dwelling Unit Residential UG Feed with no anticipated issues.

What does your say , it may give an indication for why there has been a  delay

as far a compensation, they did alert you to the delay, if the checker return shows a 2 stage install then they should give a 30 day lead time ( is it 30 days since you ordered ?  ) within those 30 days if on the first stage visit , they realise a lot of work is needed ( permits, road closures whatever ) the 2nd stage date can justifiably be moved out , although yours does seem to be a contract date and not the first stage , but ultimately it’s between you and Sky , you could argue they haven’t hit the date they said , the counter argument is that you know not to waste a day waiting in for this

This is what that link says about my address:

Our records show the following FTTP network service information for these premises:-Multi Dwelling Unit Residential MDU Built to Curtilage External Build required.

FTTP is available and a new ONT may be ordered.

The exchange is not in a current fibre priority programme

As a WLR withdrawal exchange, product restrictions apply

SOADSL is not restricted at the exchange

For all ADSL and WBC Fibre to the Cabinet (VDSL or G.fast) services, the stable line rate will be determined during the first 10 days of service usage.

For all SOADSL services, the stable line rate will be determined during the first 10 days of service usage.

Actual speeds experienced by end users and quoted by CPs will be lower due to a number of factors within and external to BT's network, Communication Providers' networks and within customer premises.

In order to be eligible for handback, downstream speed should be less than Downstream Handback Threshold values.

If you decide to place an order for a WBC fibre product, an appointment may be required for an engineer to visit the end user's premises to supply the service

ADSL, ADSL2+ and SOADSL availability: If shown at FTTP or SOGEA premises,ADSL, ADSL2+ and SOADSL are not available to order due to WLR Withdrawal stop sell rules. CPs should order FTTP or SOGEA. Copper products are only available by exception.

    Thank you for your interest

I already have copper fibre from BT.I got an email from NOW (Sky) saying Full Fibre 100 was avaiable at my address,so went ahead and switched.I phoned Sky earlier today and the guy said the next update would be in a months time.I mentioned compensation to him he said the date i was gived was only a provisional date, but nowhere in my emai does it mention provisional.

Sky in their blurbed mention compensation paid daily for each day if the activation date is not met.So not sure if I have a good case or not?

Residential MDU ( so flats , apartments etc ) and built to curtilage, a relatively unusual combination, opposite the MDU in the public footpath ( probably ) should have been recently provided  an access ‘Toby box’  , the potential problem with MDU’s compared to SDU ( single dwelling unit )  ( your MDU presumably a smallish complex ) can be permissions / wayleaves etc…if you were ( for example ) on the first floor , then the building management/freeholder will need to give permission for the cable to get from the toby box across presumably some land/garden , up the building wall towards into your individual unit, you personally couldn’t grant permission for the common areas of the building …if the permission is denied or they  want a payment to allow the work it can delay things significantly .
