Shed Repair Not Included In Tenancy Agreement

Hi all,

My tenancy agreement says that shed repairs aren't included. I was wondering if it is unlawful because it's a brick shed that was built when the property was.

The reason I'm asking is because the roof is falling in and is dangerous.

Kindly quote EXACT wording of shed repair exclusion clause.

But assuming it's worded ok and you've signed it, that's the deal you agreed to.  AFAIK entirely legal

The shed is not considered a habitable space simply an amenity so they are not prepared to spend money on it. You could have the work done yourself if the shed is useful to you and it would be cheaper than a replacement.  If you class it as dangerous they could simply make it safe by demolishing it leaving you with the concrete base. Being reinforced concrete it should stand for quite a few more years.

Single skin concrete outbuilding, even if its attached it won't count as habitable. Doesn't look dangerous to me, but if you think it is stop using the space?

I'm not home at the moment but will as soon as I've got time. Going by what other people are saying it appears they don't have to repair it, which is fair enough I just wanted to make sure 🙂. Thanks.

Thanks for your comment. Yes it is useful. Can't afford to pay for it to be fixed but might attempt it myself 😊.

Thanks for your comment. You don't think chunks of concrete that could hit you on the head dangerous 😊. I could wear a hard hat I suppose 😁.
