Dentist won’t refund my deposit, even though I cancelled with in the time

My dentist policy on their website
specifically states, “Patients are required to give at least 48 business hours’ notice to cancel an appointment. Deposits are fully refundable with sufficient notice as stated above.”

I fall in line of this as I am cancelling 5days before the scheduled appointment and they are making up new reasons not stated in the policy to not refund me.
How do I get my deposit back? My deposit is £100.

My dentist has stated they will not refund my deposit despite their policy stating it is refundable if any appointment is cancelled with in 48hours.I fall inline with the policy but they are making up new rules which are not stipulated in the policy. How do I get my deposit back?0

What new rules are they making up?

This thread has been posted twice. I've requested a merge.

I think I asked this in the other thread, but what reason are they now giving?
have you spoken to the practice manager? (Ignore the red plus button when replying, just type in the new box at the bottom and save)All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

I think the OP probably intended to reply with additional information and hit the new thread button by mistake. Bit of a design fault as other people have thought the same. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

When you say 5 days. Does that include weekend?
Are they open weekends?
Given they state at least 48 business hours
So if they are only open 8 hours a day, excluding weekends
So if is on Appointment Monday 29th, then you would need to cancel on Thursday 18th to meet the at least 48 business hours cancelation period.Life in the slow lane2 -
What was the deposit for?0

That was my reading, too. It seems they are applying 48 business hours literally, rather than the way OP (and most of us) would.born_again said:When you say 5 days. Does that include weekend?

The expression 'business hours' always seems to confuse, and the cynic might observe that this is deliberate obfuscation on the part of the organisation choosing to use it, but if they mean 'two business days' or 'six business days' then it would be far more sensible to use one of those terms IMHO....Aylesbury_Duck said:
