Ryanair Baggage Size?

Hi, we're travelling with Ryanair in a couple of weeks to Spain. I've just checked the baggage size for 20kg hold luggage and it says the maximum dimensions of a 20kg Check-in Bag are 80 x120cms x120cm. That's massive. We've not flown with them for a good while but my recollection is of them penny pinching especially when it comes to luggage. Is this size, correct?
Thanks,
Steve

120cm is about 4 foot, how big are cases??

As you say they are the dimensions Ryanair list Bag Rules – Ryanair Help Centre0

Ours are the standard size. Ryanair sizes are trunk sizes. lol Amazing!Ta!0

I suppose they always have loads of hold space so it pays to be generous with the dims to pursuade more people to (pay to) use it0

Not so generous when you consider the weight limit…
Assuming the case weighs 2Kg (very light for one that size) you’ve only got 18Kg per 1150 litres of volume!
im struggling to think of anything that light.Otoh a partially disassembled road bike in a carrier would just about fit inside those dimensions / weight restrictions - which might be why they are what they are.0 -
More likely a restriction based on airport luggage handling systems rather than the airline so Ryanair can avoid transporting oversized luggage which is dealt with separately at check in.1
