Is my Sky deal really as great as they tell me?

Hello,
I would be grateful for the advice and opinions of fellow Sky customers.
I've been a Sky customer since 2002 and for about 4 years we have had the following items:
Sky Q multiroom (4 boxes total)
All the main channels in HD, all the Sky Sports, TNT Sports, Movies, Netflix and 'Superfast' broadband (with boost) and Anytime Calls.
For a long time we were paying about £125 a month until about 18 months ago we managed to renegotiate down to £104.50 per month.
That deal is now coming to an end and after speaking to various people at Sky they all say they can't even come close to offering us that same price going forwards.

I put in a cancellation a fortnight ago and today I had a text saying "it's not too late to change your mind" etc... so I phoned up again hoping they might be willing now to come up with the same price, but the man I spoke to told me that "honestly, in the 20 years I've been at Sky I've never known anyone who had such a good discount as you've had".
So I'm unsure what to think about this. Was my deal really that wonderful, and am I being unrealistic to want to continue at around the same price for the next 18 months?
Perhaps you folks could advise me what the best/target price I should be trying to get with the services I currently have.
Thank you in advance for your kind help.

Does sound like you had a good deal there previously.
I was paying £130, 12 months ago before kicking it into touch and i didnt have as much as you. I had sky sports , tv pack, movies ,internet and 3 boxes.
But it has got out of control and them prices are crazy for a bit of tv.0 -
£104 is a good deal for that mix. Prices do seem to have climbed recently. I'm with Virgin Media (who's customer service is dire) and paying considerably more for less.
Kind Regards,

Your discounts add up to nearly £100 a month , so presumably out there in Sky land may be a customer who has the same products as you , but didn’t negotiate , and is paying over £200 a month , frankly I think it’s crazy paying £100 a month , let alone £200 for TV and broadband but we all have different ideas on what is ‘value’ , and obviously £1200 or £2400 a year is a lot of money for some , and a trivial amount for others ,so basically whatever the new price is , it’s the same decision you had previously, are you prepared to pay what they want for the product they supply.
I heard recently that a Sky presenter ( although to be fair not exclusively on Sky ) spends £300 a week on hair cuts so at least you know they are spending your subscription money wisely.

Thank you for the advice folks.
In the past there have been times people have told me I was on a terrible deal, but it seems that for the last 18 months I've made up for it with a good saving.
I must admit though I've become increasingly fed-up with Sky's coverage of the football and the poor selection of films, so I am at the point where I think I could live quite happily without it.
If Sky offered me the same terms as before then I would keep it going, but I think anything more than that and I'll call time on our 20+ year relationship.
If anyone else has anything to suggest or add to the conversation then I'd still be interested to read the comments.
Thanks again people!0 -
