Hi,
We have 10 days travel in Sicility, Italy in June. We have a 1 year old and so want to rent a car to make the most of the trip and not practical to travel without a car there. There are local and international rental companies at Catania Airport. For the international ones there appear to be introductory offers and vouchers codes but none of them seem to work. Does anyone know how to get these intro offers from the big car hiore firms? Even a small saving onthe car hire would be a help. Any tips would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Just book via a broker to get the discount.
e.g https://www.travelsupermarket.com/en-gb/car-hire/
and don't even think about skipping car hire excess insurance. Usually cheapest to get an annual policy via the likes of Quidco/Topcashback

I don't need to tell you to avoid the likes of Green Motion. Some car hire excess insurers refuse to cover them.
If you do decide to go with any of the less well known companies, read the T&C(limited daily mileage for instance or whether there is a ''like for like fuel policy) carefully and check reviews for any dodgy practices, such as trying to force you to take their excess waiver when you arrive to take the car or trying to charge you for existing damage and then refusing to supply the paperwork necessary for your excess policy.
No need to tell that you have your own insurance, just decline theirs and make sure there is time for them to check the car and sign off on it when you hand the car back to them.
