You need to be aware that those Particulars of Claim are totally inadequate.

Nowhere in those Particulars is there any explanation of what the driver is alleged to have done wrong.

This will be an easy win.

Sorry, I have reattached a less redacted copy. I’ve covered the times in and out in case they were able to identify the case by this, and the location of the PCN being issued. However, the duration I was there was approx 30 mins and the car park has a 15 minute grace period for those using the ATM, for example.
Never ever seen a £60 claim before from CEL. Have they made a mistake?

Were the signs and PCN actually for £100?

Did you pay £100 and they are trying to get fake debt recovery fees only? I don't get it.

  • Thank you @KeithP that is reassuring to know! I haven’t been in this situation before so it’s all new to me.

@Coupon-mad thanks for your reply. The original PCN from some years ago was for £100, they were then asking for around £180 to include their “fees” of attempting recovery through DCBL. Prior to them proceeding with the small claim, they sent me a letter offering a reduced payment of £60. I’m pretty sure I just ignored it at that point as I’d been back and forth with them a lot and made it clear already I wasn’t paying them a penny. I can’t imagine £60 is even worth going to court for surely?

They have until beginning of October to pay the court fee, so I’m hoping they will just not pay and it will be discontinued.

    They'll discontinue.

£60 is a mistake by a rookie clerk!

Just as you predicted, I have just had a letter come through saying they have discontinued! Such a relief after 3 years of this hanging over me. Thank you for your help, and for the very useful information on the forum, I don’t think I’d be in this position without it!

Haha! They must be kicking themselves!

    That's a win.
