OH let his iPad run out of charge. He has tried to use iTunes to update or restore and nothing is working. Is it broken or are their any websites that don't cost a fortune that can repair the IOS
It's a 2019 Apple iPad 10.2" A10 32GB iPadOS

Why has he tried to restore it because it went flat, all he would need to do was plug it in and let it charge up again, or did it show as having been factory reset when he turned it on again?paul2louise said:OH let his iPad run out of charge. When an iPad goes flat it takes some time to get enough charge to power up
Plug it in and have patience0 -
Once flat it can take a while for the ipad to have enough charge to restart, it won't work just by being plugged in, it needs charging.

Leaving it charging overnight is a good move here.

He did have it plugged in for a while and I had it connected to laptop for ages while doing tests, updates, reboots. When I tried the update it said it hadn't worked and restored was needed. Tried restore and that didn't work either.
I have tried another cable. I have had it plugged in different places. It kept flashing apple symbol0 -
It went flat, when you charge it it works again, why/what have you tried to update/restore?paul2louise said:He did have it plugged in for a while and I had it connected to laptop for ages while doing tests, updates, reboots. The issue would be if it went flat during an update, that can brick it, but it would usually refuse to start an iOS update if it does not have 50% charge or more.0 -
It doesn't work. It won't switch on. Maybe the battery has failed and that's why it won't charge upMattMattMattUK said:

It wasn't updating when it went wrong. My OH was using it and it just went black so he assumed the battery had run outMattMattMattUK said:

For those telling you you just need to charge it (...... Sherlock)
It's entirely possible your iPad is dead.
My wife had one like this that died days outside of its warranty. Refused to turn on no matter how many different charger cables, chargers & mains were used as well as leaving it on charge for days.
In the end Apple said she could send it in to be recycled if she wanted.
After telling her to sign out of her account. Yeah..... How's she going to do that then?!1 -
That sounds likely. He was using it then it just went dead. It's been charging up for several hours now as others have suggested and it's not changedB0bbyEwing said:For those telling you you just need to charge it (...... Sherlock)
