Ryanair help

Hi all,

Me and the Mrs have recently adopted a little girl and as a nice suprise for them both I booked a holiday via on the beach to Spain and flight with Ryanair. Unfortunately social services have just told me we cannot take her away this year. The on the beach website said holidays are refundable except in small print flights booked with Ryanair. I bought the holiday on my Tesco credit card and have travel insurance
any idea on how I can get a refund ?

If the Ts & Cs of the site where you bought the tickets says that they're not refundable then you won't be able to secure a refund from them, and there isn't a supplier breach of contract here that might have enabled your credit card provider or insurer to step in, so I'm afraid it doesn't look like you'd be able to obtain a refund via any of those channels.

If Social Services previously stated that you could take her but then changed their minds then you might be able to seek some sort of recompense from them?

In terms of refunds or travel insurance, this will effectively count as a change of mind so won’t be covered.
Is there any scope to try and get the holiday moved? This is on the beach that you’re talking about so extremely unlikely, but you have nothing to lose by asking.
The only other option is to check whether the social services actually have the amount of say in this decision that they think they do? It’s adoption and you are now the parents.
So I would probably be questioning both what their reasoning is and whether they have the legal right to prevent it. Once you’ve had that discussion, you may agree that actually it isn’t right for you little girl at the moment. But I do you think that should be your starting point.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

In these exceptional circumstances, I would consider an appeal to Ryanair through Customer Services to make a concession.
