Amazon closed my account, I am totally perplexed and can't speak to a human or chatbot

  • I had this happen to me out of the blue, didn’t return items either, after speaking with Amazon cos they told me that a manager would call me back but never did, so after about 3 promises of a call back and nothing I said put me through to a manager now while I am on the phone, reluctantly they did

the manager didn’t have answers for my account closure and just told me to open a new email address then open a new account

That's typically bad advice from Amazon staff.  That new account is likely to be shut down at some point too, especially if it shares the same address and payment cards as the account that was closed.

I was thinking the same but it’s been about 7 months and not been closed yet, same address card details there was still no explanation as to why my account was closed anyway, I even email Jeff but no reply (although I was expecting his staff to reply not him) thankfully I hardly use Amazon anyway

Just as an aside you can put books on a kindle by using a programme called Calibre.  You don't need an amazon account

You invest a load of money in k8ndle books and then can't access them? That's a nightmare! (to me at least)

Is it possible there has been some sort of identity theft going on here? Or address use on a different account. Claim one address, get deliveries to a different address, and then claim non delivery, or uneven use the account with deliveries to a different address - but with account closed there is no way of checking other activity on the account. There's probably other types of fraud that can take place without the OP knowing about it without further investigation.

Not sure how to get info out of amazon, they are notoriously opaque. I would try a formal complaint written to complaints department, sent by post and signed for. You are losing access to items you have paid for with no explanation - they owe you a thorough explanation and investigation into what has happened.

I would download all my kindle books now, but there isn't enough storage for all of them.
