That's what I had assumed.

No disrespect intended - however I would have thought a better deal would be a good standard of hotel package, close to the beach, with plenty of facilities for the kids for £7,000, less in fact.

Understood, my wife taught in special needs education so I'm aware of the challenges etc.

That's the normal situation with a pool.  The water is regularly tested and chemicals are added and the water level topped up as necessary.  Pools are only usually drained and refilled when maintenance requires this - to deal with leaks or retiling, etc.

I have asked the host about the topping up. He said it’s being done as it’s within their water quota.
