Water restrictions Spain

Hi,
We are off to the Costa del Sol in August for 10 nights.
We are off to the Costa del Sol in August for 10 nights.
Staying in a villa. Booked with Airbnb. Travelling with three young children.
Since we have booked, water restrictions have come in due to droughts.
One of the rules is no filling/topping up of private pools.
We can cope with water being rationed to certain types of the day etc. But we need a pool.
I have asked the host and Airbnb about this. The host has said that the pool is currently full so there will be no issue. I have asked the host how will the pool will topped up as it will lose water between now and August. He didn’t answer.
I then directed my question to Airbnb who have told me to ask the host.
If I cancel now I will only be entitled to half of the money back. I can’t get any reassurance that we will have a pool, I can’t get an answer to the question of if the villa has a tourist licence.
Air bnb have said that if we get there and there is no pool, to contact them. But will be too late then.

Does anyone have any advice?
Thank you.

On the basis that there maybe no pool because of water restrictions nobody can advise you. If you cancelled this and booked somewhere else the same thing could happen. Nobody can promise you this and nobody should have to recompense you for circumstances that may or may not happen and would be out of their control."You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "4

Yes, luckily the flights were cheap so I would cancel those without a refund. The villa has cost us £7000.0

Is it worth asking the owner if you can get a rain (if only) check and reschedule for another time of year ?0

Just a thought, in this day and age read what you are expecting in your Contract. I support will say as indeed you are saying, you require and have been confirmed ‘a pool’ is there any wording that says a pool for swimming or with water? I suspect not. This may sound stupid but with litigation as it is I think this would be a fact heavily relied on!1

No one can tell you that but
Where you are going at that time of year I would be more interested in the location, town or country
I have lived in that region for a few months during summer and there are sometimes forest fires for which
If a pool is closer to the fire than the see it will get emptied by helicopter and a scoop0 -
If a pool is essential for your holiday. I'm sure that their are options available somewhere with the remaining £3,500.1

At the moment nothing is clear cut with what will happen summer time.
It's all very confusing even at the moment with pools open in some complexes, villas etc while others are closed, even if they are already full.
There have been protests all over some parts of Spain as the Government is giving priority to hotels, campsites & holiday complexes, etc while the people who own private apartments villas etc have been left out, yet they pay a lot of tax money to the Spanish Government & community fees etc.
There is talk that the restrictions on pools will be lifted as the was quite a lot of rain a couple of weeks ago & I believe more is forecast next week.
The only other problem that may occur is that each local authority will be able to decide which pools they are going to allow to be useable.
There should be an announcement in a couple of weeks or maybe sooner with some decisions being made.
I feel truly sorry for the owners of accomodation & holiday makers who don't know what will happen.
I do hope that you will be able to have your holiday and to be honest I wouldn't do anything just yet.

If you are thinking of cancelling rebook somewhere near the beach.
Should resolve the cooling off issue.1 -
Might I ask the OP how many are in the family party - and what ages are the children ?
