All this stuff about parking tickets well demotivates you from driving.

I am planning to take the theory test but hearing stuff about parking tickets puts me off!!! My dad hates them so much, I'll tell him about this site.

HB don't let tales of parking tickets put you off learning to drive. I got my licence when I was 21 and now I am 46 until 2004, I never had a parking ticket and only got given them by the unscrupulous Lambeth Council - who have since compensated me by £440 in addition to refunding their tickets, illegal towings and clampings. As long as you park carefully and the bays are properly marked then you shouldn't have a problem. Always read the time plates too that helps.

I never had a speeding ticket either until 2004 - but I put my hand up and accepted my 3 points which had to be handwritten onto my licence because I have an old pink one.

Don't ever let people or your fears stop you from doing anything - driving gives you independence and it is often far better to drive than hang around at a wet bus stop for hours waiting for a bus that won't come.

How is this a freebie if the service which you can do yourself assuming you have good grounds for a appeal is then £7.99

If you park in a Residents' Bay which is suspended and get a ticket for not having a Resident's Permit, does the fact that even residents got tickets prove that you were issued a ticket for the wrong offence and would win an appeal?

Learn from the mistakes of others - you won't live long enough to make them all yourself.
  • When I got caught out with a Private Parking fine, I used this site-they are brilliant!

(I never paid the fine & their advice/info is completely free)

No one has claimed it's a freebie.

Here are the first few words of the opening post "Not exactly a freebie,"

It's stated right at the start that it's not a freebie

This is just a advert and not a freebie. I just bothered sending a simple letter appealing about the parking ticket and they waived the charges.. simple and didn't cost me 8 quid. :P
