Don't have to pay parking tickets again!!!

Not exactly a freebie, but could potentially save you a lot of money. The site is http://www.appealnow.com and for only £7.99 a time, they will sort it out and try to get it appealed, without bothering you.
I know it might seem like a lot, but considering how much you save compared to paying off a parking ticket, why say no?

However, I'm not completely sure about it, as I have not tried it out myself (mainly cos can't drive and if I did I'd probs get arrested cos I'm underage!) so just watch out and I would be grateful if anyone who does try it out could give some feedback.

THANKS:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T

  • Or just park legally and don't get parking tickets in the first place.

    I know it's a radical idea but got t worth a try! ;)
  • this could pretty usefull for some people

when i had my first flat i had two tickets in one week for parking in a doctors bay outside my flat but the thing is my flat was the old doctors surgery so there was no need for the doctors bay but i was told by the council as long as the bay still has doctor painted on it the ticket was valid

i never bothered to appeal as i moved after a few months

but a site like this would have saved me around 40 quid

The council could easily have written off the money since it's the local council that paint the road and put the Traffic Regulation Orders in place and enforce them. If you'd written to them i fully suspect they'd have written off the ticket. Explaining the surgery was no longer there and they'd maybe even have come round to remove the paint on the road.

As for the website, i'd be suspicious of paying someone £8 to do something that costs a couple of stamps and a letter or two.

Alternatively, park legally as Pretty Vagrant suggested.

My Sis and Bro-in-law went away for a weekend and decided to use the park and ride. They parked the car and the bus was there so they rushed to get it and asked the driver how things worked and he just asked for the fare.
When they got back to their car they had a £100 parking ticket
Apparently you had to pay a £1 to park.
In our area on the P&R you just pay the bus fare.
How can they give you a £100 parking ticket for not paying a £1

Appeal Now is an interesting site, however, it is easier to appeal the ticket yourself rather than pay someone else to do it. By all means use the site for information but as for forking out for something you can do yourself is nonsensical. The chap that runs the site is only really interested in making money for himself rather than helping others. You can get a list of codes for the Penalty Charge notices from your local council - look under parking, take photos of the area where you were parked (proper ones showing all road markings and signs - I say this because some councils are good at taking photos that don't show the whole truth). Don't pay, appeal and if your appeal to the council is unsuccessful appeal to PATAS (if you are in London) or the National Traffic Appeals Tribunal (I think that's what is is called elsewhere in the country).

Every vehicle has to have a Registered Keeper.

I'm sure what you meant was to ensure that the Registered Keeper is domiciled outside of the UK.

I concur.........my vehicle is registered to a lovely Polish girl who used to live next door to me but now lives in Krakow.

I send her a £20 cheque once a year (a small fortune to her) and she ignores the many "we've caught your vehicle speeding, name the driver" demands she receives.

You can speed with impunity

Note to appease the do-gooders: speeding is only acceptable when it's safe to do so.

Any advice that you receive from me is worth exactly what you paid for it. Not a penny more or a penny less.
