    Thanks so much all, apologies I totally forgot I'd posted this!

    It looks like a sim and hotspot is the way forward, I'll look into this. 

    As always, very much appreciate your responses and these are great!

    Gran does have a home phone but the cost to add broadband is astronomical!! 
    Really should be doing some work...

    I went with a Lebara sim (after checking local coverage) with unlimited data/calls/texts for £12.50 per month rising to £25pm after 3 months and it works perfectly! My dad is over the moon, he's hot spotting his laptop and my grans smart TV on it. Thanks all! 
    Really should be doing some work...
