Need to replace electric loft hatch belt - Measure size?

Afternoon all,
I need to replace the belt which opens the motorised loft hatch. It's stretched so keeps coming off.

Just need to work out how I find out what size I need to order and whether these kind of belts have a particular name at all?
(I had to cut it to get it off)

Thanks in advance

There are a whole raft of different toothed belts. The pitch of the teeth and the profile varies. But it looks like you have a fairly "standard" one. Best bet is to visit a local bearing supplier and take the old belt with you.

Is there a reason you haven't asked the unit's manufacturer?
Do you know the make and model?

Well you learn something new every day. I've never heard of an electric loft opener before.

Went up and took some pictures of the markings I could see, but sadly no luck googling online - Unless they mean anything to anyone else!
  • 21T5-V42 is a timing wheel pully specification I think.

42 teeth, T5 metric profile, 21mm pulley (probably 10mm belt).

    I could be wrong though
