    The wife has no id.
    She called and asked, she has enough.
    No forms etc.
    But as I've never been married I don't have a marital date to provide which I understand is one of there requirements online and as I guess also over the phone.
    I trust no Governmental department (least of all the DWP amongst others) which is why I was asking if there's any heads-up on the process as I can't be the only one who isn't/hasn't been in a dissimilar position that's all.

    As with all such things I much prefer to have it in writing.
    Whatever is said over the phone can always be denied later, so get anything important down in black and white..

    You're braver people than I in trusting what someone said in a phone call.

    On a side note, you say she has no ID, are we talking nothing at all or just no driving licence/passport?
