State Pension - Applying By Phone

Hello,
When applying for your state pension by phone, are you actually applying for it or do they simply send you forms?
Also, I worked overseas for around 3 months many, many years ago. Nothing special just a general labouring job, so should I mention this if it's going to complicate things?

Usually you receive an invitation to apply about 3 to 4 months before it's due by post.
Then you can apply by phone or via the Internet0 -
The application via phone, is exactly that. No paperwork, online etc. Application is completed within call, trouble-free. I have very recently assisted 2 friends with this process.Riverstone58 said:Hello,When applying for your state pension by phone, are you actually applying for it or do they simply send you forms? Also, I worked overseas for around 3 months many, many years ago. I guess it can vary but any idea roughly how long it takes so I can put the time aside?0 -
It certainly wasn't long, 10 minutes or so. Have anything obvious to hand.. NI number etc.Riverstone58 said:

No, totally irrelevant. As an aside you have actually checked your current entitlement is correct?Riverstone58 said:Also, I worked overseas for around 3 months many, many years ago. Nothing special just a general labouring job, so should I mention this if it's going to complicate things?0 -
I don't have a Gateway ID as I have no passport or driving licence so that'll be another issue.la531983 said:

You don't need any of that.Download and fill in a BR19 form (it's just a simple name/address etc.) and send it to them.
When I did it last year the reply letter with my pension forcast took 2-weeks to get back me:

I did it online, and it was remarkably efficient.👍You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset.
