Manchester airport security

i'll be going through security at manchester airport later this week.
I've got a clear plastic bag for my small toiletries.
I have another plastic bag for my prescription medication. I'm hoping they don't moan i have two bags!

I also want to take my porridge oats which i mix with seeds and protein powder. Potentially a jar of peanut butter

Would two clear bags and the food be an issue with security?

Food isn’t going to be an issue unless the peanut butter counts as semi-liquid which it may well do as jam does.

There is an exemption for prescribed liquid medications but you will need proof.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

Is this a short trip/hand luggage only? 🤔

Peanut butter will be an issue, anything of a liquid/paste nature won't be allowed through if it's not 100ml and in the plastic bag. If you want to take peanut butter it would need to be in your check in luggage... If you have check in.

Depending on where you're going seeds might also be an issue.

Worth noting if the trip is through Terminal 2 you may get one of the new security lanes, in fact if you pay for fast security you will defo get this as its the one they use for that service.

Not sure if the limits still apply though until the rollout is 100% complete.

Limits to liquids will still apply to fast track - it's just a (from £5 per person) faster route through security, I know the 100ml limits are due to be scrapped, but this hasn't happened yet.

I presume by 'new security lanes' they mean the new scanners where you are not restricted to volume and no longer have to remove electronic items from hand luggage.  For now I would assume the standard rules still apply.

Correct, but I had no idea if they were still enforcing old rules regardless until all airports, terminals and lanes are able to comply.

They are, I wouldn't risk items over 100ml, even if you don't take them out of your bag - I saw someone lose a bottle of whisky (not duty free sealed);from their hand luggage a few weeks ago, flying from London City, who have the new machines (although perhaps the liquid wasn't the issue)

I would think that the biggest potential problem, until all scanners at an airport are updated, would be those fancy new ones breaking down and having to use the 'old' system.  I feel confident that some jobsworth would say you couldn't take items over 100ml.

Just to clarify, im flying to Malaga this week from Manchester airport - terminal 3.

    - I have my prescription note so will bring that for the 2nd plastic bag with my medication
    - i'll leave the peanut butter out
    - my Porridge mix - oats and seeds. Are seeds really an issue to take through security?

I also will take a number of my Dailies 1 daily contact lenses, they are in a encased in a saline solution.
Do i need to also add them in the clear plastic bag?
