Switched bank but old account still open?

Did a full bank switch from tsb to Santander for their switch offer but the tsb account remains open. Switch has gone through and all of my DD’s and my money has transferred over. So I guessing I can just contact tsb to close the account. And just to clarify I’m wondering wether or not it’s likely to affect me getting the Santander bonus cause even though I’ve switched the tsb account remains open.

On what date did the switch happen? Apart from eyeballing the accounts online/apps have you received any texts or emails to confirm the switch is completed from either bank?Santander sent me an email to confirm everything was done.0

Sounds more like a partial switch than a full one - what happens if you try to send a small test payment to the old account?0

There are two separate methods of switching, the partial variant is the precursor to the full one that was introduced about ten years ago but can still be used, especially when switching accounts that don't support CASS.
