Yes I got the impression in Japan that Toto are the main brand of these things. They are fitted in toilets in railway stations, not just hotels.

The Washloo brand one I have has a heated seat, a detector so it knows when you are sat on it so it doesn't spray the ceiling and a warm air fan for drying if you want it!

Has anyone actually got one - do they actually clean you properly - because the spray does appear to be insufficient as far as cleaning a bu m - and the alternative doesn't appeal (hands on) !!
Dont have one but have stayed at a hotel that had them in the rooms. Personally, didnt like the idea of it given the nozzle comes out of the loo so could have who knows what on it and obviously this is ultimately a shared resource, might be different if it was your own.

The one we had was very customisable in that you could have multiple "users" each with their own preferences for position of nozzle, water pressure, oscillation pattern, temperate etc. Did give it one go, without dialing in preferences, and it seemed to do an ok job though the dryer was odd.

The warm seat, automatic light, auto open/close etc were more appreciated features for me.

😂 I'm in Japan now... These toilets are one of the many many varied highlights of our trip so far... They should be global! Adjustable temperatures, musical distractions, and safety sensors! I'd be a little concerned about getting a plumber and electrician to fix it should it go wrong, but the toilets definitely elevate your bathroom experience!! As said previously here, the accuracy the jets fire with is mind boggling 😂
  • I very much doubt whether I will get one - but I was just intrigued how they actually work

If I was half as smart as I think I am - I'd be twice as smart as I REALLY am.

I can assure you they leave  you cleaner than any method I've ever used - two minutes of well-aimed warm water at a reasonable pressure is very effective.

Husband already spends a very long time in our en-suite. If we had one of these fitted I think he might take up residence in there. Though he’d probably want a TV installed as well.

    Hmmm. Money well spent🤔

In our total bathroom refurb last year we had a conventional bidet installed.  I noticed the manufacturer did have a smart bidet in its range costing over £4,000 !   but we don't need those features.  I use the 2 bar pressure from our pumped hand shower.   One click gives me a focussed warm jet more violent than anything from the mains.

Fair comment, I used to do a similar thing, but I still maintain my £400 bidet toilet seat does a better job AND you don't have to strip off and get in the shower!
