Discretionary Commission

Hello,
I submitted a request to find out if I had discretionary commission on a Fiat 500 I purchased back in 2019. Attached is the response I got. I wondered anyone's thoughts on this as whilst it states I did not have the discretionary commission, but then seems to contradict this and put the blame (as such) onto me, for not understanding paperwork?
Does anyone have thoughts on whether I should take this further to the Ombudsman? I have also replied stating I would the like the complaint to be kept open.
Thanks,
Sarah

There is no contradiction. They've confirmed there was no discretionary commission paid.
DC is where the dealer can increase the interest rate you're charged in order to increase their commision.
Your Lender paid a standard commision to the dealer which is allowed based on fixed parameters.(ie the dealer could not increase their commision by increasing the interest rate.)

Does anyone have thoughts on whether I should take this further to the Ombudsman? You can't. The FOS is not accepting complaints regarding DCA at this time.wondered anyone's thoughts on this as whilst it states I did not have the discretionary commission, but then seems to contradict this and put the blame (as such) onto me, for not understanding paperworkEither you complained about there being commission in your letter or template or they have given a boilerplate response.
They are allowed to receive a commission. That is not the issue. So, the response has covered that.
They have also confirmed no DCA. So, for you its game over.
They are also probably a little exasperated by the number of people creating significant workloads accusing them of all sorts of wrongdoing when they have done nothing wrong.
