SMS to Lebara SIM

Has anyone been able to set up an Apple ID using a Lebara SIM for a verification code? I currently cannot and wondering if it is something to do with not not being able to receive Premium SMS. Does anyone know how to enable this?

The message I get is: "Verification codes cannot be sent to this phone number at this time. Please try again later."

Edit: Actually maybe nothing to do with SMS specifically, as I can't get a phone call either to verifty.

I created a similar thread in Techie Stuff, but Apple Help Chat said it was a phone carrier issue...

No, I've had the number since May 2023. I haven't had any other problems with it, so really puzzled why it won't work. I also tried my partner's number (who is with Lebara as well) and I get the same error..

Lebara Help suggested that I turn off RCS Messages, but that made no difference. They have now logged a support ticket.

That's very strange.
Although I've never tried Apple SMS verification, I've never had problems with it with any other company on Lebara.

The only problem you'll have (from personal experience) is a very slow technical help process with Lebara. Basic enquiries are fine, but anything technical takes a long time to resolve. Fingers crossed it is resolved quickly for you.

Thanks - I haven't had any other problems using Lebara either, so I have no idea what is going on. And googling it doesn't help because no-one else seems to be in the same situation. If they can't come back to me with a resolution I will just buy a 2nd PAYG SIM and see if I can use that number. Really not ideal, but not sure what else to do.
