Buying/Selling 5 Months in still no end in sight.

I Just need an outlet, Decided to sell our house and buy a new house due to growing family pains. So at the start of November we put our house up for sale, its a 3 bed 1 bath needs a bit of work so was priced sensibly and got an offer we accepted 5 days later, our buyer had a cash buyer with no chain for their house, fantastic.

We get the ball rolling get a solicitor in place to deal with the sale whilst we toddle off and start looking for our new home, find it make an offer and get it accepted instruct solicitors start surveys etc.

Our Mortgage was accepted by Natwest.

This is all done by the end of November things are moving quickly wow.

Start of December our buyers buyer has a health scare over the weekend and cant possibly move so pulls out, fair enough you have to put your health first you cant blame them, So our buyers house back on for sale.

Middle of December new offer on their house fantastic its close to Christmas so we will look forward to things realistically progressing in the new year.

January second week, Buyers second buyer pulls out, the couple buying it split over Christmas, Such is life these things happen back on the market.

Now the first real stress we were keeping the estate agents for the house we are buying in the loop and the next thing we see the house pops back up on Rightmove we take a drive past and yep the for sale sign is back up. No one told us this was happening.

After speaking to the estate agents and making it clear we wouldn't be used as a stalking horse either reject our offer or take the house back off for sale it pops back up as sold (including the board outside) but they inform us and our estate agent they have two weeks to get our buyers property sold and the chain back together or the house we want will go back up for sale. Fair enough.

end of January beginning of February our buyers house sells again. We are back on chains good woohoo.

End of March all searches done boilers inspected, roofs checked, drains searched, consumer units fiddled with, fair play to our buyers buyer they are first time buyers and they are dotting the i's and crossing the T's.

So lets start talking completion and exchange, Oh wait wait hold on a minute.

There's a yearly ground rent charge of £10 the mortgage company wont give them the money unless its modified.

I've googled the problem and can understand why.

So now I've asked our solicitors for advice and they've advised put the house back up for sale as it will probably be quicker than waiting for an amendment or buy out of the ground rent charge.

The estate agents are going mad trying to keep this together.

Our buyers buyer has apparently gone off on their solicitor about how this has only been found now and wants it dealt with last week.

The cherry on top we have no idea what the people we are buying from are going to do when we pass on this information as they could probably sell there house quicker than waiting for this to be sorted and i wouldn't blame them and it wouldn't be fair for me to expect them too. Oh and our mortgage offer runs out next month so fingers crossed our broker can get us an extension.

Thanks for reading, sorry for the wall of text, sometimes its just good to rant at strangers.
