Octopus just took over my FIT payments from Shell and asked for the first reading at the end of March.
Could not send them as they had messed up the transfer and held the wrong meter number.
Obviously i have now missed out on a payment but rang today and they now have no record of my house ever having Solar panels or a FIT account in spite of 8 years of FIT payments from previous FIT payers.
Three people at Octopus have now tried and failed to find any record of a FIT account for my address and my export meter is unheard of.
Its a mess and i don't know what to do next.

Why do you think you've missed out? When this is sorted out and your next accepted reading is submitted you will be paid for all exported energy since the last accepted reading.

Do you know your FIT number?  It should be on any records you have.

    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.

I have the FIT number and have sent them a picture of the meter.
They insist my house is not on the register, does not have panels and the export mpan does not exist.

If you receive the FIT then unless you changed things you will be on deemed export.  It's possible to change this but there would not have been any point when you were with Shell so you didn't, I'm sure.  You won't have an export MPAN and if you happen to have a smart meter (or otherwise) that can measure your actual export that is completely irrelevant.  If you stop confusing Octopus by asking them to search for things that don't exist then maybe they can offer you more help.  All they need is a reading of your generation from your generation meter.  If they are mentioning an export MPAN then perhaps they are trying to look you up on the wrong database.

I was with Bulb for my FIT payments so now with Octopus.  They had to email me a specific link to submit my first generation reading but after that things have gone smoothly.

I haven't asked them for anything  just answered the the questions they asked.
They can find no record of anything to do with FIT at my property.
I have had panels and FIT payments for over 8 years.

Okay but whoever was asking about an export MPAN clearly doesn't understand how the FIT works which doesn't bode well.  And sending them a picture of your generation meter is unlikely to help.  Your MCS certificate should confirm that you have solar panels.  And presumably you have an old payment statement from Shell that you can send them.

They messed up the migration from Shell to Them, sent me a request to put in my generation figures but the meter number was wrong.
They asked for a picture of my meter and now say they have no records.

I don't know anything about solar panels and how the billing works - but having gone through a SOLR transfer to them twice, once for my own account and on an estate property I was managing - I noticed both times that the information on the account came through in dribs and drabs - it wasn't imported in one complete lump. Each time I logged in to the account, there was a bit more information and it gradually took shape ever a few weeks.

So my suggestion would be to allow time for that to happen.  Keep your own record of meter readings and usage and what you generate and put aside the money you calculate that you owe - or keep up with scheduled payments.  And just give it some time to come together - it might just be that the required data hasn't reached your account yet.
