You don't get the money back as you don't own the panels but you benefit from the free electricity generated by it. I don't imagine you have a battery so you need to do all you electrical intensive stuff when it's sunny, which over winter and this terrible autumn isn't really possible. People I know who buy the panels always buy a battery so they can store the electric to make use of the panels at night etc.

That's not a meter but looks like a isolation switch for the panels so they can be turned off.

Try looking to the immediate right of the isolation switch.  Between the isolator and the RCBO.
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.

It's only 1kwp so not going to help much.
But if you have an ihd it will tell you if you are importing or exporting.
If you have gas central heating then that is where the bulk of the cost will be.

Yes, can you post meter readings or annual use?

This is my gas useage.   Sorry I’m a bit thick with this stuff.   And feel I’m being taken advantage of.

When I had oil central heating my electricity usage was about 8 kWh per day.  50 kWh over 7 days in April does not seem at all bad.  But that usage should drop as we move towards summer and get more sunshine.

Please explain where you feel you’re being taken advantage of?
You will be benefiting from the panels to some degree.

I don’t know but my costs seem so high for someone living on his own. I was paying £170 a month last month now they have updated to £240 as from next month.
