Transfer in to Tesco 1 year fix

Hi, i opened a Tesco 1yr fixed saving account last week but haven't been able to transfer any money into it yet.
I'm trying to do a transfer from my Natwest online banking but when i enter the Tesco account details i get a "This account cannot be verified" message.
I've double check the account details and tried a few times this week.
Has anyone else encountered similar?
Is there a time i need to wait before the Tesco account becomes visible to other banks?0 -
Yes, I'm sure I've read about this on here before - if you ignore the failed CoP message and proceed with the transfer at your own risk, with a nominal amount such as a quid, then you should be able to satisfy yourself that all is good, assuming that multiple payments are permitted of course.Santahoho said:Hi, i opened a Tesco 1yr fixed saving account last week but haven't been able to transfer any money into it yet.

Thanks for your help, unfortunately i am only allowed one payment. Think i might have to go to a Natwest branch and see if they and verify the account.0

It's not uncommon for new accounts to take up to a day or so to be recognised by a CoP check, but I wouldn't have thought it would ever take a week - especially for an online account that is set up instantly.
For both of these reasons, I would imagine the problem lies with Natwest, so either visiting a branch in order for them to make the payment for you or transferring it to an alternative current account (where you probably won't have this problem) would be the way forward.
As an aside (once you do get up and running), payments into the Tesco accounts I've had in the past have been among the quickest I've ever experienced. I used to get the deposit notification from Tesco before the notification from the sending bank that the money had left the account !1
