Buying insurance now would be on par with crashing your car and then buying car insurance

Also insurance doesnt cover disinclination to travel

I suppose, but I went on a stag a few years ago, coincidentally to Barcelona, and we all flew from whichever airport was nearest and just met at the accommodation. In hindsight perhaps this was a better idea here.

Train ticket prices vary enormously and can sometimes be absurdly cheap thanks to tricks like split tickets. It is probable that the cost of rail travel will be less than the total cost of driving plus parking.
