ANYONE ELSE FINDING MSE's BROADBAND CHECKER NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE

I've started looking at broadband packages as I'm not particularly impressed by Vodafone's router and there are providers prepared to buy out existing contracts.

I'm currently paying £40 a month and now I see offers for £30 for the same speed, albeit with 2 price increases.

Spoke to Sky about something else and they were offering their service for £23!

So yes, definitely better offers now

Just checked again and there are 4 results showing. 3 mobile braodband and three from SKY for fibre. 3 is still iffy and we still can't get fibre. Same as last time.

I'm also finding MSE broadband checker unreliable and other comparison sites, which I think they are taken from.

I tried for the Vodafone 50Mbps which says current price £16 or there is 150Mbps for £17 These are supposedly the prices without the voucher. Click on get deal, it takes you to Gift Cloud for a voucher. I'm not bothered about a voucher but you have to put in your email to proceed. Then it takes you to Vodafone's website where not only are the prices higher but they don't even do 50Mbps.

I contacted Vodafone and they confirmed they don't do 50Mbps.and 150Mbps is £25.50

So, is it the comparison sites who are misleading us or Gift Cloud?

Waste of time. Offers me loads of FTTP plans - Is MSE going to lay fibre to my street in the near future ? - Openreach or any other provider don't have any immediate plans.

I'm looking to switch at the moment but keep getting a message saying that the broadband checker is not working at the moment. I'm getting the same message on various sites including Plusnet and Sky.

Who are you with right now as Sky's DNS servers seem to have had a hiccup in the last day or two.

Some.of these comparison searches seem to produce one set of results for just the postcode, then a shorter list with some possibly higher prices when you choose the actual house in a drop down box.

Or if you don't enter that.detail you only discover the issue at the provider site

Maybe that is also happening here. Why they do it like that, I don't know

I don't know about the prices being different but it's possible for some in one street to have FTTP say and the other half or side of the street to still be FTTC or even ADSL. The checker can only go off what the ISPs have on their databases and even they sometimes aren't up to date.

Even drilling down to my house number it still offers me FTTP which is not available at either level.

My private close has it's own postcode only for the 9 households within it.We aren't yet on Openreach or any other provider radar for FTTP - Using the MSE checker by postcode then select address, it says i can get full fibre eg from SKY which is clearly wrong.
