how are you connecting to the internet
NS&I do not play nicely with any form of mobile signal this includes accessing it on your mobile phone browser (apart from the app) and connecting your laptop tethering0 -

ETA - just checked, seems to be OK0 -

So, it's now been 20 days since i've opened my Direct Saver and i've not been able to log in once! I've made 2 calls to NS&I and they've basically tried to fob me off by saying they are aware of the problem and they'll be sorting it. Can't say i've got much confidence in actually using NS&I and i'll probably split my savings between 2 or 3 banks. What a ridiculous situation. I've checked everything according to their help on 2 factor authentication, tried 2 different browsers, changed my password, set everything according to specs, I use a new Mac Air and the date and time is fine. Very frustrating!

This is probably quite niche, but have you ever been nominated as a responsible person for children's premium bonds? My mum did that years ago without me knowing, which results in you having an existing (but incomplete and unlinked) profile that causes all sorts of havoc with their system. Once this was identified I had a letter (and maybe a new passcode?) in the post after a week or so that fixed everything.2

After months of trying and following advice from the https://www.thisismoney.co.uk website I think I have resolved the problem for my setup.MacBook Pro running Sonoma 14.5, using Firefox 115.11. Phone: iPhone Xs running iOS 17.4.1The problem resulted from differences in the time bases of my computer and mobile phone. By setting both of these devices to calculate timing on the same basis, the phone produced one-time codes which functioned on the computer to enable access to my account on the NS&I site. Without this synchronicity the one-time codes appear to be erroneous. On the MacBook Pro go to System Settings>General>Date and time. Activate 'Set time zone automatically using your current location'. Also enter your closest city and the local time zone. In my case: London - United Kingdom; British Summer Time.On the iPhone go to Settings>General>Date and time. Set 'Set time zone automatically'. Set your closest city; in my case London. This has so far worked without problem. However, as noted elsewhere on this board, the one-time login reverts one back to a shadowy login screen for a few seconds, then clears the screen to let one into one's account. So doing this is well worth a try but I suspect other gremlins are still in the NS&I system.2

I'm having problems trying to buy more premium bonds.
As soon as I click on buy more bonds it logs me out and says it's because I used a back button. This is on android I will try on laptop later.0
